Digital transformation in industry will gain momentum

The official opening of the MESS Technology Center, completed after 4 years of intensive and extensive work of Turkey’s Union of Metal Industries (MESS), was made by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on August 29. Aiming to give direction to the digital transformation, the center will work to further strengthen Turkey in the global competition. MESS Technology Center, which has been implemented with an investment of more than 200 million TL, will increase the national income and employment by increasing the efficiency in industrial companies. The technology center, established on a 10 thousand square meter area in Ataşehir, İstanbul, will provide all the services required for the digital transformation of an industrial company under a single roof. MESS Chairman of the Board Özgür Burak Akkol gave the following information:

“37% of exports are made by MESS members. Our members provide employment for more than 200 thousand and provide indirect employment to nearly 1 million citizens. MESS Technology Center will also be a turning point in the future of our country. It will drive the digital transformation of our industry for more employment and national income. Our technology center contains more than 20 applications and Technologies that are Pioneer in Turkey as well as in the world. Our digital factory inside the center is the first digital production facility in Turkey including sales forecasting, supply chain requirement, production systems, quality management with an integrated infrastructure. Actual production is done in the plant which is the first plant of its kind in Turkey aided with the 5G technology. It is the most advanced digital factory in the world with more than 100 production scenarios. We offer training programs in Turkey’s largest and most comprehensive Digital Transformation Industry. We will provide more than 2 million hours of training to 250 thousand people in 5 years, from company top manager to operator, from engineers to workers. We also offer our members the strongest ecosystem, which includes technology, academia, entrepreneurs and research institutes. On the platform we have created, we bring our members together with more than 40 technology and solution providers that have achieved worldwide success.”
