gelHemen, bringing together service providers and service buyers on a single platform for all kinds of services we may need in our daily business and social life, immediately received investment from ICS Information.
The platform founders Bora Erbaşoğlu and İzzet Altınel, underlining that the expression used to define “gelHemen” from the idea and startup phase is “the global online marketplace for services”, gave the following information: “In the stages of technological development, commercial model and business model creation, we did not allow our goal of becoming a global platform to go beyond our focus. However, of course, our plans were created within the scope of a sustainable growth strategy. Based on this, becoming the platform preferred and used by both the members who serve and receive service in Turkey in the first place, and after a short time, spreading the use of the platform in as many countries as possible abroad, starting from certain pilot countries, constitutes the main lines of our growth strategy. Since we, as the founders, have undertaken the execution of all the architectural and visual design and development related to the platform, as well as the related business processes, from the idea stage until today, we did not have any problems with the pre-seed investment, which is also called 3F. However, at this point, we have used all our free time and the time we need to spend on our private life and with our families as capital.
After the platform started to be used, our needs naturally evolved to the next level and the need to increase our awareness came to the fore for us. Therefore, we started a new investment search process in the third quarter of 2020. For the seed investment tour, we had many meetings with nearly 20 organizations, including individual, corporate and angel investment network in Turkey and the world. In this context, we started negotiations with ICS Information Technologies, which we reached through our professional communication network. Thanks to their intense interest and well-intentioned support, the process progressed very positively and we completed the seed investment process with an investment plan created within the framework of marketing and sales operations, legal obligations and customer service. “Following the completion of the seed investment process recently, we accelerated our work with all stakeholders and the resources we have. Our aim is to realize our plans quickly. We aim to reach high levels in both the number of members and the increase in the number of members very soon. We can name the part that will be realized so far as digitalization. Immediately afterwards, our main goal will be to make this growth data oriented, which is the indispensable condition of today, and as I mentioned above, to ensure the digital transformation of the service sector both in Turkey and in the world.”
“We will progress towards becoming a Unicorn”
ICS Information Technologies Founding Partners Mustafa Gayır and Uğur Berke Kayıkçı stated that there is no reason why gelHemen should not be a unicorn and said:
“Nowadays, mobile applications, especially those for user needs, are growing rapidly. gelHemen is one of them. We examined the application to the finest details, we saw that both its ease of use and software technology are far ahead of its competitors. It is also very open to growth, for example, if someone from Portugal, Brazil or China downloads the application today, they can start using it immediately. With the marketing support of such an application, there is no obstacle to become a unicorn.
With the investment, we will mostly take part in the marketing part. It will be our job to ensure that both service providers, experts, people that will do the work, come to the application and that large masses, that is, those who will receive the service, participate. In parallel with this, we started to work to increase our technology stakeholders. In order to appear in as many places as possible, we accelerated our advertising, events and social media works. On the other hand, our digital marketing efforts are starting in a very powerful way. We will be paying attention to social media and channels such as Google. In the second phase, we plan strong collaborations for foreign purchases. I am sure our name will be mentioned a lot. Our aim is to support new startups and promising companies doing technology based business with new investments like this. We want to take our place in the developing and changing local and international markets.”
